A Roman Plastic Surgeon

Hi! My name is Pierfranco Simone and I’m a Roman plastic surgeon. With all my multiple initiatives in Italy and UK, I really don’t like to sit still!
With an architect for a father and a fashion expert for a mother it came naturally that I inherited a passion for arts, fashion and good food. As long as I can remember I've always appreciated the finer things in life and this undoubtedly contributed to my developing a keen eye for aesthetics.
I’ve always been passionate about art but never thought I would make a profession out of it, as my special interest in medicine prevailed. Before starting medical school I got a degree in Classical Studies and attended a British school: I so combined Greek philosophy with English pragmatism!
I’m currently a reconstructive surgeon at a famous University in Rome and skin cancer is my principal interest. I’m in charge of the pigmented lesion clinic and plenty of my time is devoted to melanoma prevention. The academic environment is certainly the main inspiration to keep up with the state-of-the-art techniques and be active part of the scientific community.
At the same time my creativity is totally fulfilled in cosmetic surgery. My artistic consideration of the human body is a fundamental issue when planning whatever aesthetic operation. Beauty is balance and harmony and this is why exaggeration and disproportion never yield natural outcomes. I’m particularly concentrated on short-scar techniques and my main concern is to hide scars as I don’t want my patients to have visible signs of surgery.
I take a long time for my consultations as I like to establish a deep relationship with my patients. This is the best way to investigate patient’s motivations and expectations: in my opinion psychology is oftentimes more important than clinical examination in the preoperative assessment.
I think that life is hard and I want to convey the message that, provided you have the right indications for surgery, you mustn’t be ashamed or embarrassed if you want to look younger, improve your looks and have fun! My goal is to make people feel at ease when they speak to me about their intimate and secret wishes.
The good human relations I establish with my patients and their appreciative words are undoubtedly the most gratifying and motivative moments in my hectic professional and social schedules! For me, right now, I'm living my dream and I would really like to share it with you. In the coming months I’ll be giving you some advice with regard to various cosmetic procedures and some of the tricks of my beautiful trade. So, trust me, I’ll speak to you soon and let’s see what the future has in store!
