THE BANGBANGS ON A Hi
LIA
Hi my name’s Lia and my own personal humanHi has to be when I gig with The Bangbangs’. I’ve performed on my own throughout my life a lot, but being on stage with my girls is just plain wicked. I feel so close to all three of them and I get so excited all day leading up to the gig and when we walk on to the stage I think I’m just gonna scream!
When I see the audience including my friends and family, the buzz in my stomach just gets bigger and bigger and I feel so much pride that I’m able to do this. No amount of dosh could ever match the Hi that I get from doing what I do and it’s like I switch into being a totally different person. Nothing can stop me. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the applause but I don’t think that’s what I need to make me feel good. If what I do makes YOU feel good then that’s even better. But all I know is when us girls are together – we SMASH it!
ELLE
Hello my name is Elle and when I was asked about my greatest humanHi, I realised that there were several things I love doing whether they be performing on stage, horse riding or spending time with genuine great friends. But when I was thinking more and more about it, I envisaged a particular image from when I used to exercise horses in a big open common. I would travel up the hill and when I reached the crest of the hill, I would just rest and take in the scenery. It felt like I was the only person in the world. The feelings I had were of such peace and contentment as I could just be with nature. I would feel so comfortable and happy with myself that nothing could faze me or touch me at that moment.
It’s a sense of being at home and it’s so overwhelming that I actually, in that stillness, get a buzz of energy. I think everyone can have that sense of peace and contentment either on that hill, or that stage or with those people closest to them and for me it’s the best feeling in the world
SHANNON
Hiya, my name’s Shannon and for me, my absolute element is being on stage. But I also get a massive high from travelling and seeing the world. I love to take in other cultures and landmarks and experience a world that’s different from my own backyard. I like seeing things I wouldn’t normally see back home. I like going to places I wouldn’t normally go to, trying things I wouldn’t normally try and eating things I wouldn’t normally eat! In fact that’s a personal favourite – the food! It’s a mixture of relaxation and absorbing the rest of the world that gives me that real humanHi.
SOPHIE
Hello I’m Sophie and I can’t explain just how amazing the feeling can be when I’m watching a live performance. I love to be absorbed by other people’s talent whether they’re performing in a west end musical or a play, or if I’m watching a live band or listening to jazz, I get such a rush. I think the pinnacle for me was when I saw Wicked and the witch held the longest, highest note I’ve ever heard and it was so overwhelming that I felt like crying. I don’t get so much of that high and that energy from watching people perform on TV so I think it’s about being so close to the performer, it’s so much more real and accessible for me. I just think ‘I want to do that!’
So when I do perform it’s a different high but it’s an equal buzz. I just feel so comfortable when I’m performing live and I want the audience to feel what I feel when I’m watching something really good
