Scary Spice look-alike
Hello Ladies..!!
My name is Sabrina Ebanks-Thornback. I am a Scary Spice Look-alike, who is also a member of the look-alike band “A Touch of Spice”, and this is my first article for humanHi.
We all have our own HumanHi’s, which are personal to each of us. Mine is GIRL POWER..! Without this weapon I would be lost.
I am a Scary Spice Look-alike and I thoroughly enjoy what I do. However it wasn’t always this way for me. Being just 14 when The Spice Girls exploded onto the scene, I was not ready for what was about to hit me. I was instantly teased and picked on for bearing a resemblance to Melanie Brown, the feisty, loud, Scary Spice, and although I had been brought up to defend myself, the rude and abusive comments really got to me and hurt me a lot. Life at school became difficult and something had to be done. It was through Girl Power that I turned this bad situation around for myself, into a fun and positive way of life. By becoming a look-alike, I have embraced my resemblance and enjoyed everything that comes with it. The teasing and bullying soon stopped and I quickly became popular in school in a positive way. My popularity gave me the power to stop bullies at my school from abusing others, and gave victims something to look up to.
My humanHi has turned me into a strong, independent and confident person and I hope that my column will help you to have this same positive outlook in life.
Sometimes life throw’s some unexpected obstacles at us, which we must figure how to get over. Talking it through and seeking advice from others can really, really help, and that’s what I would like to offer the humanHi readers. If any readers feel they need this support, please do not hesitate to drop me a line and I would be delighted to help you through and promise to …””Say I’ll be There.””
Long gone are the days where women needed to burn their bras in order to be recognised or to achieve Girl Power. Girl Power really is what you make it. For example, Glamour Modelling used to be considered a degrading and disrespectful occupation, however, the beautiful women of today, in true Girl Power style have turned this stigma around and proved that this type of work can actually be done tastefully and decently, and that is definitely Girl Power!!.
Today I have just finished appearing in a music Video called ‘The Message is Love’. and I think it’s a lovely motto for the week to remember.
I hope to hear from you soon, and remember to embrace life positively, be true to your self and as The Spice Girls once sang… “Set your spirit free, it’s the only Way To Be…”
GIRL POWER
